How do I upload a document to the MMI site?

  1. Click the "File Attachments" link to expand the section
  2. Once expanded, click "Browse" to identiy the file to attach
  3. Click "Attach" to submit the file
  4. The File Attachments section presents three options for attached files:
    • Delete: This can be used to remove an attachment from the page. The removal will take place only after you click "Submit" to save the page.
    • List: By default, the system will list all attached files near the bottom of the page.

I found some outdated or incorrect information. How do I resolve the content?

Users are encouraged to notify MMI reviewers of incorrect, outdated, or incomplete information on the site. There are a variety of ways to notify MMI reviewers.

Edit the Content

If you have the knowledge to edit the content directly, please do so. During this process, please adjust the workflow setting to "Visible to members, request review." The Reviewer wil compare the newly updated content with the previous version, and proceed as appropriate.

How do I find content on this site?

There are a variety of ways to access content on the MMI site.

Navigation

The blue navigation bar to the left of the page provides access to content, based on the established scheme. For some of these items, such as "Community and Groups", you can hover over the button to see a submenu.

In addition to the blue navigation bar, you also see content-specific menus on the right side of the screen. By default, you will see events, news, and a feature story.

How can I get automatic notifications of site additions or changes?

RSS

RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication. RSS feeds are identified on the MMI site with the following icon: RSS feed.

I want to get more information from the author. How can I contact them directly?

The Contact form protects the confidentiality of the content creator by presenting users with a form. This form can be used to send an email to the MMI member that created the content. Notice, the form also allows users to copy themselves on the email.

This page is interesting - how do I find similar content?

The associated taxonomic tags are one of the easiest way to isolate similar content on the site. Taxonomic terms are assigned by content creators, and ratified by a Reviewer. The assigned terms are displayed as a link at the top of a page. To isolate content that has been tagged with the same term, click the desired term.

For example, click "MMI FAQ" at the top of this page to see a listing of all content tagged with this term.

Content on the MMI site is also organized by type.

What are the linked terms at the top of each page? (i.e. MMI FAQ, MMI Site Related on this page)

Once tags are assigned to a particular piece of content, and that page is submitted, the tags are displayed as a link at the top of the page. The link will display all content that is associated with the linked tag.

For example, this page is tagged with the following: MMI FAQ, and MMI Site Related

What is the difference between a Page and a Book Page?

The MMI site makes use of both pages, and book pages to present content.
In general, books are developed by MMI groups, for a specific purpose.

Where did my content go?

By default, content submitted to the site by members who are logged in is "Visible to members, Maintain as a draft." This means it will be visible to anyone who is logged in to the site.

Perhaps the quickest way to access this content is to use the "My Content" link in the "Recent Content" box on the left side of the screen, under the box titled with your username. This link takes you to a page that lists only that content that you have submitted to the site.
