A collaborative initiative to demonstrate and advance data interoperability

The OpenIOOS Interoperability Demonstration represents a coastal sciences community effort to support integration of observational and forecast systems.

The OpenIOOS Interoperability Test Bed is a collaborative, multi-institutional initiative to demonstrate and advance data integration and interoperability among coastal ocean observing systems, both adacemic and government, across the U.S.

Partners from the NOAA Coastal Observation Technology Systems (COTS) and Office of Naval Research (ONR) programs have identified six priority areas to develop a successful interoperability test bed: nowcast product development, metadata, QA/QC, data assembly and aggregation, common user interface, and communications. The Interop Test Bed activity is being conducted in close coordination with the SCOOP program.
