How to Participate in Vocabulary Mapping
This page includes information for organizations interested in participating in vocabulary mapping in general (i.e., not necessarily for the vocabulary mapping workshop). Please note that those interested in preparing for a workshop should proceed through Step 2 (converting the vocabulary to OWL or RDF).
The following are steps for vocabulary mapping:
1.a Provide name of the vocabulary to host organization or MMI
1.b Provide direct URI to the vocabulary or ascii file of their terms - tab or comma delimited
1.c.Provide URL of organization creating it
1.d.Provide URL of page describing the vocabulary
1.e. Provide name and email of person responsible for it
1.f. Provide any additional notes about the vocabulary
2. Convert the vocabulary to OWL or RDF using voc2owl or voc2rdf, and referencing the ontology creation guide and the harmonization guide.
3. Use the VINE tool (and guidance) to map between vocabularies
