SMMS provides users with the power of creating, editing, and querying the metadata which describes spatial data, and manage common metadata content via a relational database.

SMMS is the Spatial Metadata Management System. SMMS provides users the power of creating, editing, and querying the metadata which describes spatial data, with the added advantage of being able to manage common metadata content via a relational database. It also allows a map of the spatial data to be viewed, and incorporated into online metadata.

Recommended by D. Wright and the Oregon Coastal Atlas team, particularly when dealing with FGDC metadata.
