Demonstration of data interoperability through ''use'' metadata for disparate oceanographic data types

The MarineXML Testbed, the major deliverable of the EU MarineXML Project, demonstrated data interoperability through 'use' metadata (CSML developed by NERC DataGrid) by displaying a wide range of disparate oceanographic data types through the Seven Cs SeeMyDEnc viewer.

The MarineXML testbed demonstrated that by mapping simulated and observed marine data from different domains (biology, hydrodynamics and remote sensing) into a common metadata framework it is possible to input the data into a common service (a map-based navigation service in this case).

A demonstration installation package is in preparation and will be available through this link in due course.
