MMI Principal Investigators

Principal Investigators of the Marine Metadata Interoperability project.

Description

The Marine Metadata Interoperability Project has multiple Principal Investigators. Each Principal Investigator provides leadership for a certain set of activities within the project. The collected Principal Investigators make up the MMI Executive Committee, charged with short-turnaround decision making and advising for the MMI project.

An MMI Principal Investigator is any individual who leads an MMI-approved, independently funded project dedicated to MMI goals. Before submitting a proposal for funding of an MMI project, the potential recipient must have the approval of MMI's governing organization. Once the project has been funded by the awarding agency, its lead automatically becomes an MMI Principal Investigator.

Leadership is also provided by the MMI Program and Technical Leads and the MMI Steering Committee.

More details on the relationship of the Principal Investigators and other project entities may be found in the MMI Terms of Reference.
