International conference to explore information reuse and integration needs, technologies and experiences

Massive amounts of data are routinely collected by a variety of projects. Some of this data is used immediately, while other resources are published, and stored for later use. By describing data and data resources, metadata enables appropriate use of data, effective re-use and continuing integration of data sets.

The 2009 IEEE International Conference on Information Reuse and Integration explores the techniques, tools and experiences of information technologists, researchers, and developers, as they strive to enable and practice data reuse and integration.

From the conference website:

Information Reuse and Integration (IRI) plays a pivotal role in the capture, representation, maintenance, integration, validation, and extrapolation of information; and applies both information and knowledge for enhancing decision-making in various application domains. This conference explores three major tracks: information reuse, information integration, and reusable systems. Information reuse considers optimizing representation methodologies; information integration studies strategies for creatively applying models in novel domains; and reusable systems focus on ontological opportunities for deploying models and corresponding processes.

Conference Topics include

  • Ontologies
  • Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery
  • Systems of Systems
  • Semantic Web and Emerging Applications
  • Information Reuse, Integration and Sharing in Collaborative Environments
