Advanced Underwater Technology for the Ocean

The Magnificence of Tokyo will again greet international experts as they attend the fifth Underwater Technology symposium in April 2007 which includes the fifth Workshop on Scientific Use of Submarine Cables & Related Technologies. This Symposium will provide you with a thematic umbrella under which attendees will discuss the problems and potential long term solutions that concern not only the Pacific Rim countries, but the world in general.

Now the longterm observation using submarine cables have drew world-wide attention, and some ambitious projects have initiated. We think it would be beneficial to hold another SSC workshop next year as many developments are going underway.

The SSC workshop will cover both scientific and technical topics. It would offer a good opportunity for both scientists and engineers to meet together and exchange information and deepen communication.

SSC'07 will be held together with the International Symposium on Underwater Technology 2007 (UT2007). UT series symposiums have been held biannually in Asia since 1998. It covers topics including AUVs and sensors those have deep relation with scientific cables.
