Our conference theme “Marine Technology for our Future: Global and Local Challenges” reflects the focus of the oceans community acting locally to help globally. For this year’s event, your Local OCEANS Committee has selected four local topics of global interest. Sessions on Operational Oceanography, Coastal Restoration, Ocean Observing Systems and Lessons Learned from Recent Hurricanes will join our traditional topic areas to highlight recent issues, concerns, and solutions that extend around the globe.
