Listing of possible funding sources to augment NSF funds for an OOS vocabulary mapping workshop
- IBM – tied to their work with Beacon Institute
- OGC – use existing OOSTethys/Oceans IE
- SURA – not likely due to their new funding situation
- Moore Foundation – does not accept unsolicited proposals
- NSF supplemental funds – inquiry should be directed to Program Officer - talk up technical merit and have a $ figure in mind. Preferably, the inquiry should come from someone with a good, existing relationship with the Program Officer

- Raytheon
- Unidata
- State of California? E.g., tied to CERES or CalOcean or CA HF Radar/National Radar Server
- Resources Legacy Fund – California Coastal and Marine Initiative. http://www.resourceslegacyfund.org/pages/grantees.html CA Central Coast Focus. A multi-year program begun on behalf of the David and Lucile Packard Foundation (www.packard.org) in 2003 dedicated to improving the coastal and marine health of California’s Central Coast and generating more effective statewide policies and programs to enhance the protection of coasts and oceans for future generations. The program currently accepts letters of inquiry for grants.
