Web Team—November 2008
Web site priorities were discussed at the November Tech Team telecon.
- Need a system to monitor and fix broken links.
- Content on site: need to minimize the ways you can assign a
location to a new node. There are now 3 different ways, which should be streamlined. Should have clearer URL paths and maybe limit where people can put
content.
- Some content on old Plone site still needs to be moved over to Drupal
site. There are 500 items still missing but when they get moved over
this will resolve the ~500 broken links.
- About ready to turn on the blog module
- Need a system to handle bulk images, photos (image gallery module)? We would rather have pictures from last workshop as images rather than files. Is there a way other than just manually adding these images?
- Need aggregation and syndication tools to enable both directions of information sharing, cross-publishing.
- Suggestion for
creating a list of tasks that need to be worked on. We could create a
view that presents a task that needs a worker. We then document this
and go to that page to see what is pending should a volunteer come
along.
