Website Team Summary
The Web Team is developing a plan for a revision to the MMI Web site. We welcome input from the MMI Technical Team! We have started a "fact finding" exercise so that we can generate a well-informed and concrete proposal for web site re-design. This proposal will be presented to the chief PI and to MMI oversight committees before being implemented.
Current focus
We are currently reviewing the site menu architecture and are developing a backend migration plan.
Once the architecture is close to its final state a wireframe and site design will be built.
Upcoming activities
A series of steps will be used to develop a new information architecture for the MMI site. This is an organization of the material on the site including proposed new content. Please see the Web Redesign Near-term Plan for more information. We hope to draw on the Tech Team for participation in the user testing.
Work to date
We have completed a comparative site analysis of Web sites that are in various ways comparable to MMI.
Andy Maffei and Katherine Joyce attended the MMI Strategic Planning Meeting in October. They reported on our Web site project plan (here's a copy) and got a lot of useful input from MMI members.
With help from members of the Tech Team, we published a web-based user survey to help us assess the strengths and weaknesses of the current MMI Web site. The survey, at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=129832714313, remained on-line until mid-January, 2007.
We have analyzed the results of the web site survey and are using the geedback in our new design.
