The Problem
As the number of ocean observing systems increases, our ability to effectively integrate their sensors and data declines.
How can we achieve interoperable and scalable deployment of sensors in our oceans?
The Scenario
This scenario (shown in the graphic below) illustrates the life cycle of a sensor, and related operations, in a hypothetical ocean observatory. It emphasizes the steps that are impacted by interoperability issues.
