MMI Podcast Pilot
Exploration of podcasts, for the MMI Project
In response to various conversations and user experiences, the MMI project is undertaking a podcast pilot! This was discussed at the January 6, 2009 Technical Team Meeting. It was decided that a group of interested Tech Team Members will explore the possibility of establishing a permanent podcast.
Pilot Goals
- Identify resources needed to create and distribute podcasts of interest to the MMI community. Resources include, but are not limited to the following:
- People: Writers, editors, producers, etc
- Technical: Software and hardware
- Marketing: How to get the word out?
- Develop a set of introductory videos/audio recordings that can be used as initial MMI podcasts
- Develop at least one technical or scientific video/audio recording that can be used as a "sample" MMI podcast
- Begin to establish a set of future podcast topics
- Establish a Pilot Podcast (i.e. serve the videos/audio recordings as a podcast available from MMI)
- Monitor use (web statistics, anecdotal, etc).
Sample Podcasts
Here are some podcasts that might serve as a model for the MMI podcast pilot:
