Community Presence - November 2007
MMI explored the NSF DataNet solicitation with members of the ESIP Federation, and discussed potential strategic approaches to quality assurance community-building with QARTOD principles. // Many activities have been planned around AGU, and a strong MMI presence (including times at the eGY booth) is expected. Several outreach documents have been created for distribution/viewing at AGU.
Several significant community-building opportunities are being considered in ocean and earth science communities, and MMI is providing guidance and input regarding its own experience and capabilities. It is not yet clear whether MMI is an appropriate partner for these activities.
MMI's AGU presence is even more significant than expected last month, as a number of MMI outreach products will be ready in time for the conference. Although not originally planned, it is possible MMI will be extremely visible throughout the conference.
