MMI collaborated on a proposal to NSF's SDCI solicitation. / Several organizations that submitted Letters of Intent to the NOAA CSC solicitation for IOOS data management activities expressed an interest in collaborating with MMI. / MMI has posted content standard comparison material provided by the IOOS DMAC Metadata Expert Team, and is providing an email list for public comment.

The NOAA solicitation for Letters of Intent for data management projects for IOOS attracted considerable attention, but none of the parties interested in MMI collaborations contacted MMI with enough advance notice to come to a formal agreement. In each case the parties were encouraged to mention that they were discussing a collaboration with MMI, with the understanding that formal collaboration discussions could begin if NOAA requested a formal proposal.

The collaboration with the IOOS DMAC Metadata Expert Team is exciting, as it represents an opportunity to share the knowledge developed by that team, and add to it with information from MMI activities. The first document made available under this arrangement is the Content Standards Comparison Matrix.
