- April 5-7 2006: The interest of having mappings between CF and GCMD rise again. This time in the CF list. Exchange of ideas with John Caron and Roy Lowry
- April 7 2006: New ontologies were created for CF and GCMD. They are available at: http://marinemetadata.org/cf and http://marinemetadata.org/gcmd, as well as new mapping file (see cf-gcmd.owl file attached below) that imports both ontologies. This one should be downloaded locally. Also a print screen in VINE was created. Note: The GCDM OWL file encodes all the tree hierarchy of keyword as a unique resource, this way we will avoid possible confussion with repeated variables.
- April 21 2006 An ontology with the first set of mappings, composed of 150 relations was created. Basically stating that a term in CF is narrowerThan a hierarchy of terms in GCMD. In some cases one to many and many to one relations were created.
- Jan 31 2007 Roy Lowry from BODC started making the BODC PDV to GCMD mappings.
