MMI completed participation in the context of the OOI CI Semantic Prototype. Several MMI Ontology Registry and Repository (ORR) enhancements and bug fixes. Updates to MMI ORR User Manual pages. New MMI book for documentation of internals of the ORR deployment at MMI. Several posters and presentations by MMI members at AGU 2009 Fall Meeting, including one specifically about the Semantic Framework.
OOI CI Semantic Prototype
MMI completed its participation in the context of the OOI CI Semantic Prototype. Final reports and updates to relevant tasks in the OOI CI Jira system are being posted.
MMI Ontology Registry and Repository (ORR)
Several MMI Ontology Registry and Repository (ORR) enhancements and bug fixes were developed. Noteworthy are the following:
- New triple store server (AllegroGraph, free version) has been integrated and inference re-enabled (229, 175)
- Named graphs have been enabled for programmatic registration of ontologies (219, 214)
- Demo client application updated: http://code.google.com/p/mmisw/source/browse/#svn/trunk/mmiorr-client-demo
- Fixed bug 213, ontology with hash fragment separator not handled appropriately
- Preliminary version of an special admin interface in the ORR portal
- MMI ORR Ontology developed: http://marinemetadata.org/community/teams/tech/mmiorront
- Several new entries entered in the issue tracker regarding key requirements, including: 230, 231, 232, 233.
MMI ORR Documentation
- Updates to MMI ORR User Manual pages. Most of them have been made public for the sake of facilitating user feedback.
- New MMI book http://marinemetadata.org/mmiorrdeplmtech. This is Internal documentation describing the build process and the deployment of the various components (BioPortal back-end, Ont service, ORR portal, AllegroGraph server) on the MMI and MMIWEB machines.
AGU 2009 Fall Meeting
The MMI Semantic Framework was presented by Carlos Rueda in a poster coauthored with Luis Bermudez, John Graybeal, and Paul Alexander: http://marinemetadata.org/community/teams/presence/mmisemfr-agufall2009. About 50 MMI poetry kits were given away during the session.
