CeNCOOS-CF Mapping File in OWL

This is the .owl mapping file of the CeNCOOS-CICORE vocabulary to the CF ontology. The file was developed using MMI's VINE mapping tool.

Team members are requested to review the .owl file for mapping accuracies.

Some notes about the mapping process (please use these to help check the mapping results):

  • Used Dale's vocabulary file to inform the mappings. For example, he often included a CF term for an "equivalent standard name".
  • The following terms were in the CeNCOOS-CICORE vocabulary, but didn't seem to have a mapping counterpart in CF:
    • iso_time
    • turb_volts
    • transmittance
    • solar radiation (though I think CF may have some "narrower than" terms for this...I'm not familiar enough with the domain to judge.)
    • NH4 (couldn't find the equivalent term "mole_concentration_of_ammonium_in_sea_water" in CF that Dale listed.)

    • chl_volts
    • pH
  • Used my judgement to identify the following CF terms for CeNCOOS-CICORE terms
    • CF:sea_water_pressure = CeNCOOS:water_press
    • CF:moles_of_nitrate_and_nitrite_per_unit_mass_in_sea_water = CeNCOOS:NO3_NO2
    • CF:wind_speed_of_gust= CeNCOOS:wgust
    • CF:visibility_in_air < CeNCOOS:visibility
    • CF:moles_of_phosphate_per_unit_mass_in_sea_water= CeNCOOS:PO4
    • CF:lwe_precip_rate = CeNCOOS:precip_rate
    • CF:precipitation_amount= CeNCOOS: precip_accum
    • CF: sea_water_electrical_cond= CeNCOOS: cond
    • CF:sea_water_temp = CeNCOOS: water_temp
  • Where Dale noted that there were mulitple equivalent CF standard names for a given CeNCOOS term, I made multiple = mapping relationships for the CeNCOOS term.
