Roles

As a multi-disciplinary effort, the Collaborative Ocean aims to provide an infrastructure on which various roles can contribute collaboratively through participating semantic web based knowledge management activities.

Knowledge engineer

Responsible of elicitating domain requirments, choosing knowledge engineering methodologies and setting up knwoledge management activities within the knowledge life cycle, e.g., ontology engineering, semantic annotation and semantics reuse.

Software developer

Technical developement of software and integration of different sub-systems to fullfill knowledge management requirements in the domain.

Data manager

manage and maintain measurement datasets, often using DBMS.

Oceanograpgher engineer

manage and deploy oceanography equipments for the purpose of marine science

Marine scientists

Scientific experiments and analysis of the oceanographic data with a purpose to improve understanding of the marine environment.
